Mitral Annular Disjunction in Mitral Leaflet Prolapse: Prevalence, Clinical Profile and Echocardiographic Features at Tertiary Cardiac Care Centre, Rawalpindi
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective: To determine the prevalence of Echocardiographically-recognizable Mitral Annular Disjunction in patients Myxomatous Valve Disease/Mitral Leaflet Prolapse.
Study design: Analytical Cross sectional .
Place & Duration study: Armed Forces Institute Cardiology/National Heart Disease (AFIC/NIHD),Rawalpindi Pakistan from Jul 2021 to Sep 2021.
Methodology: A total (n=45) diagnosed disease, were included through non-probability consecutive sampling. (MAD) was assessed by 2D TTE imaging as distance between point insertion posterior leaflet into left atrial wall (upper boundary disjunction) and link atrium ventricle myocardium (lower border disjunction)at end-systole parasternal long axis view. equal or greater than 2mm used a threshold for diagnosing presence MAD. The data analysis done with help computer software programme SPSS version 24.
Results: Total number 45 males being 32 (71.11%) while females 13 (28.88%), mean age 30.24 + 5.21 years. MAD present 26 (57.8%) length 2.88mm 2.77 mm. Patients had more chest pain, palpitations dyspnoea those without regurgitation severe without. severity correlated Non Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia.
Conclusion: is not an uncommon finding having myxomatous mitral valve disease/mitral prolapse........

Effect of position on echocardiographic diagnosis of mitral valve prolapse
Echocardiography has been accepted as the diagnostic modality of choice for mitral valve prolapse (MVP). The determine the effect of position on echocardiographic diagnosis of MVP, we examined 693 consecutive patients referred to the echocardiography laboratory because of suspected MVP. First, patients were examined using the usual standard M-Mode echocardiography( left parasternal third or fou...
متن کاملEchocardiographic analysis of posterior mitral leaflet movement in mitral stenosis.
Echocardiographic analysis of the movement of the posterior mitral valve leaflet in 60 patients with lone mitral stenosis, 35 patients with aortic stenosis, and 18 patients with aortic and mitral stenosis showed a spectrum of initial posterior mitral valve leaflet movement in early diastole. The classical anterior movement was seen in 36 out of 60 patients with mitral stenosis (60%), and 8 out ...
متن کاملMITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE The relationship of mitral annular shape to the diagnosis of mitral valve prolapse
The geometric or anatomic diagnosis of mitral valve prolapse, as opposed to the pathologic diagnosis of myxomatous valve disease, is based on the relationship of the mitral leaflets to the surrounding anulus. Current echocardiographic criteria for this diagnosis include leaflet displacement above the annular hinge points in any two-dimensional view; implicit in this equivalent use of intersecti...
متن کاملClinical features and investigative findings in presence of mitral leaflet prolapse. Study of 85 consecutive patients.
In a 14-month period mitral leaflet prolapse was diagnosed in 85 patients by echocardiography or cineangiography. Chest pain alone was the presenting complaint in 30 patients and linked with palpitation, dyspnoea, or syncope in 9. Eleven presented with major neurological disturbances (9 had transient ischaemic attacks), 10 with palpitation, 4 with undue and persistent fatigue, 2 with dyspnoea, ...

Tokom poslednje dve decenije m...
